KBIA's A Winner!

The Radio-Television Digital News Association has announced its winners for the 2012 regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for excellence in electronic journalism.  Heading the list of winners in the Small Market and Large Market category was KBIA, winning 3 awards.  The wins were in the categories of “Hard News,” and “Use of Sound.”

KBIA and Harvest Public Media’s Jessica Naudziunas won twice for Hard News.  Her story “More Than a Little Dry” won in the Small Market category, while “The Curious Case of the Cattle Rustler” won in the Large Market category.

KBIA’s Jacob Fenston also won a Regional Murrow in the “Use of Sound” Category for his story “Six months after the storm, runners in Joplin get back on their feet”

Each regional winner becomes automatically eligible for the national awards to be judged in early June.

KBIA News Director Janet Saidi was very pleased to learn of the awards, saying;“These wins are a testament to the ability of our news team and the quality content they produce on a daily basis.”
