An administrator at a college in North Carolina will become the new president of Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Lincoln University curators announced Friday that Kevin D. Rome will be the school's 19th president, beginning June 1.
Columbia College has named current Executive Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs Terry Smith as its interim president. According to a press release today, when Dr. Gerald Brouder retires as President in August of this year, Smith will take over. The college has a goal of having a new president named by July 2014.

In December, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which will operate the huge animal disease lab if it is ever completed, got title to the land when the city of Manhattan officially deeded over the 47-acre site. It’s a move that supporters hope will breathe new life into the beleaguered lab.
