Shannon Watkins

KBIA Membership Coordinator

Shannon Watkins joined the KBIA staff in 2008 as the Membership Coordinator. A University of Missouri alum, Shannon received bachelors degrees in Classical Studies as well as Art History, and further avoided adulthood by attaining a Masters degree in Ancient History. Thus prepared to annoy anyone brave enough to watch historical adaptations of ancient Greece with her, she moved from academia to a career in development, which better suited both her extroverted personality and her attention span. Shannon believes very strongly in the mission of public radio, and will happily explain why that is and why you, too, should support KBIA.

In her off-hours, you’ll find her obsessively updating Twitter, listening to music, hanging with her awesome husband Eric, or talking about her opinions—quite possibly all at the same time. Shannon’s favorite activity, despite being excessively wordy on her staff bio, is road trips that end in a rock concert. Especially ones that take the scenic route
