After Carnegie Hall, Jefferson City Native Returns With A Song In Her Heart

This Friday evening, professional opera singer and Mid-Missouri native Suzanne Woods brings her husband, the tenor JohnPickle, home to Jefferson City for an evening of songs from opera and Broadway musicals.

Woods knew early that professional singing interested her as a career. Influential early roles included that of Brigitta Von Trapp from 'The Sound of Music' and a later role as Eliza Doolittle.

Now based in New York City, Woods performing career has included roles with the Baltimore Opera and the Nevada Opera. Her roles have ranged from Norma Desmond in 'Sunset Boulevard' and as the soprano soloist in Mozart's 'Requiem' performed at Carnegie Hall.

Friday's free concert by Woods and husband John Pickle is 'Carnegie Hall Comes to River City' and begins at 7:00 p.m. at Jefferson City's First Presbyterian Church.
