Drivers in Boone County may see more red and blue lights while on the roads this holiday season.
From December 5-12 the Boone County Sheriff’s Department will schedule additional deputies to conduct more DWI checkpoints.
MODOT Grant Coordinator Chris Luebbert said these efforts are crucial especially this time of year.
“There are a number of festivities and social events going on tied to celebration during the holiday season and we just want to help send the message that if you’re going to go out drinking please be responsible.”
Grants from the Missouri Safety Center and the Missouri Department of Transportation Division of Highway Safety are funding this campaign.
