Columbia police are looking for two people suspected of attacking a tow truck driver who stopped to help them.

Police said in a news release the driver pulled over Monday night in eastern Columbia after seeing a vehicle stopped on the shoulder. He said the two people in the vehicle attacked him and stole his cash.

The driver was left unconscious on the road. He eventually awoke and was able to drive himself to an exit and call police. He was taken to a Columbia hospital for evaluation.

Police are looking for an older model green Ford Taurus. One suspect is described as a white male with a mustache in his 20s, about 5-feet-9. The other is described as a heavier-set white male about 6-foot-1.
