First Friday - Dog Day Night (Fri, 6 p.m.)
Don't dread the dog days of summer! Join Artlandish Gallery for First Friday. View, purchase and enjoy work from more than 40 artists as you wind through the catacombs and sample beer and wine from Root Cellar.
Make sure you check out the DanceWalk, too. It's a first for Columbia. Think of it as parade without an audience, so dance like nobody's watching. DanceWalk starts at 7 p.m. Meet at the Artlandish parking lot.
Camelot at Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre (Fri, 2 p.m., Sat, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Sun, 2 p.m.)
Head to the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre this weekend for Camelot. Escape to a time of chivalry, knights and wizards. This family-friendly show opened yesterday and runs through July 15. I hope you caught the Groupon for it.
Musicplus: rockparty at Mojo's (Fri, 8 p.m.)
Spend the night with Gamera, Franz Kafka Rock Opera and Lemurian Gypsy for a hopping dance party at Mojo’s. Just don't expect a dj spinning Top 40 singles. Check out new electronic and experimental sounds instead.
The Hooten Hallers & The Hobosexuals at The Blue Fugue (Sat, 9 p.m.)
Hear more local musicians at the Fugue on Saturday. Word on the street says 21 or older attendees get a free shot of whiskey at the bar.
Lotus Plaza with Hollow Stars and Enemy Airship at Mojo's (Mon, 8 p.m.)
Extend the weekend with another show at Mojo's. Catch Lotus Plaza, the solo project of Lockett Pundt of Deerhunter. It'll be like a mini-Pitchfork.
