Members of the Ferguson Commission reported on their first 100 days of operation at a meeting Monday night at the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis.

Governor Jay Nixon created the commission in October to examine the root causes of the unrest following 18-year-old Michael Brown’s death in August.

The commission is charged with finding the experts to address those causes and to make recommendations to improve the area.

The committee’s 16 members are drawn from the St. Louis area and include faith and business leaders, as well as activists and law enforcement officials.

The committee is led by the Reverend Starsky Wilson and St. Louis Regional Board of Teach for America chairman Rich McClure.

President Obama is scheduled to make a speech on Saturday in Selma, Alabama Saturday, focusing on Brown’s shooting.

Attorney General Eric Holder has also said he will announce the results of his department’s investigation into Brown’s death before he leaves office.
