Fly borne disease affects Missouri deer population

On this week's show, we'll hear about how the drought is affecting Missouri's deer population, and hear a profile from the Harvest Public Media series My Farm Roots.

Most of Missouri is still experiencing extreme drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. That’s affecting not only crops, but wildlife as well. KBIA’s Gina Cook reports on how the drought is affecting an important source for recreation and food in Missouri: deer.

Also, we’ll hear a story from My Farm Roots. That’s a series from Harvest Public Media that showcases stories and memories of rural life, as told by farmers. Reporter Hilary Stohs Krause picks up the story.

Rehman Tungekar is a former producer for KBIA, who left at the beginning of 2014.
