A member of the grand jury that declined to indict a white Ferguson police officer in 18-year-old Michael Brown's shooting death is asking a county judge to allow her to speak publicly about those secret proceedings.
The woman, identified in her St. Louis County lawsuit only as "Grand Juror Doe," seeks an expedited ruling allowing her to speak out about her time on the panel.
A judge dismissed a similar petition she filed in federal court last month.
U.S. District Judge Rodney Sippel sided with lawyers for St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch in ruling that the former grand juror needs to go to a state court to seek permission to talk publicly. Saying it is a state matter.
A McCulloch spokesman declined comment on the matter Thursday.
