Granny's House Moves to New Home After 16 Years

After 16 years on Trinity Place, Granny’s House, an after school program dedicated to the enrichment of children in Columbia public housing, is getting a new home. The program will be moved to 110 E. Worley St.

With the help of a Veteran’s United $25,000 donation, Pamela “Granny” Ingram and her husband Ellis Ingram were able to purchase a new home with more space for the children.

“Veteran’s United has been providing support for the last two or three years and this donation was especially meaningful because it provided just about all of our down payment for the house that was great that they were able to do that for us,” Pamela Ingram said.

The Ingram’s received the donation earlier this week at a celebration for the new home. Columbia Mayor Brian Treece, First Ward Councilman Clyde Ruffin and judge Sue Crane attended the event.

“It gave them a chance to see what their donations and support for all these years has been producing,” Ingram said.

Renovations on the new home are slated to begin in December. A playground, security gate and a crafts room will be added. The new home is set to open in January.
