Hillary Clinton Takes a Different Approach in 2016 Campaign

Flickr user Rona Proudfoot

On Sunday Hillary Clinton sent a tweet and posted a YouTube video announcing her candidacy for president. What is Clinton's campaign doing differently this time around? Missouri School of Journalism professors Amy Simons, Earnest Perry and Mike McKean discuss the issue on the weekly media criticism program, "Views of the News."

Perry said he thinks the Clinton campaign is taking more of a relaxed approach compared to 2008.

"She's going to try to be more transparent, she's going to interact more with the media, she's going to be more kind to the media."

Clinton held an off-the-recorddinner with select members of the media on Friday, April 10. Is this an effort to mend relationships with the media, or could it contradict the concept of transparency?
