Kirksville led northeast Missouri in job postings over the last few months thanks in part to the Northeast Regional Medical Center, based in Kirksville.

Carolyn Chrisman, the Director of Job Creation at the Kirksville Regional Economic Development Office, says the hospital is leading the way in job openings as it expands its reach into the surrounding area.

“From registered nurses to LPN’s to physicians to physical therapists to pharmacists all did extremely well,” siad Chrisman.

She added that medical suppliers and realtors are also doing well around Kirksville because of the new Dental School being built at A.T. Still University. Kirksville finished ahead of Hannibal, Macon, Moberly and Warrenton in job growth.
