The life and times of John William "Blind" Boone

Watch the show and join the conversation on the Intersection website.

The Blind Boone Ragtime and Early Jazz festival is in Columbia through Tuesday, June 11. An annual affair since 1991, the festival pays tribute to one of the early pioneers of what would eventually become Ragtime music. Audiences may recall John William “Blind” Boone as one of Columbia’s most famous sons, but who was he really?

This week on Intersection, we'll talk about the life and times of John William "Blind" Boone.

Panelists:
Mary Collins Barile, co-editor, “Merit, Not Sympathy, Wins: The Life and Times of Blind Boone”
Christine Montgomery, co-editor, “Merit, Not Sympathy, Wins: The Life and Times of Blind Boone”
Greg Olson, Curator of Exhibits and Special Projects at the Missouri State Archives

Rehman Tungekar is a former producer for KBIA, who left at the beginning of 2014.
