Man who died at Home Depot subsidiary in Mexico, Mo. identified

Officials have identified an employee who died in an accident at one of Home Depot's subsidiaries in central Missouri.

Brice Mesko, an assistant safety director in Mexico, Mo., says 30-year-old Kenny Baker of Auxvasse died Tuesday while trying to repair a loading dock plate at Home Decorators, a distribution center.

Mesko says the plate fell on Baker, who was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Mesko told KXEO that investigators are trying to determine whether safety mechanisms on the plate were used correctly or were functioning properly.

Home Depot officials say they're cooperating with investigations into Baker's death.
