Missouri's new Auditor Nicole Galloway has named two senior staffers to help her lead the office.

The Democrat on Tuesday announced Audit Director John Luetkemeyer has been promoted to deputy auditor. Michael Moorefield will serve as chief of staff.

Both began work immediately.

The announcement comes the day after Galloway was officially sworn in to replace former Auditor Tom Schweich, who fatally shot himself Feb. 26.

Former Deputy Auditor Harry Otto and chief of staff Trish Vincent have since resigned. Both worked under Schweich, a Republican.

Moorefield previously served as deputy chief of staff for Democratic state Treasurer Clint Zweifel. Galloway's husband, Jon, is a former spokesman to the office.
