Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon says he's still reviewing legal uncertainties surrounding a proposal to enact one of the nation's most restrictive unemployment laws in Missouri.
Nixon said Thursday that he has questions about legal issues surrounding the measure. The law cuts unemployment benefits to as few as 13 weeks if the unemployment rate drops below 6 percent.
Nixon contends that senators missed their chance to overturn his veto of the bill. Senators voted this week to overturn his veto on the legislation. Nixon says senators are too late because they didn't vote on it before the regular legislative session ended in May. That's when House members voted for an override.
Senators have said their override vote this week counts.
