No reports of injuries during Thursday's severe weather

Officials are assessing damage from heavy storms that hit northern Missouri, damaging homes and utility poles.

No injuries have been reported from the storms that hit Thursday afternoon. The Daviess County Sheriff's Office says emergency dispatchers began receiving reports of funnel clouds and tornadoes about 3 p.m. Thursday, with the storm extending from the Daviess County line with DeKalb County to the Jameson area.

The sheriff's office received reports of damage to several electric poles, a few residences as well as barns and outbuildings. In Grundy County, the National Weather Service said a tornado was reported on the ground for six miles north of Trenton.

Grundy County Sheriff Rodney Herring says crews from the weather service are headed to the area to assess the damage.
