Texas Governor Rick Perry visited Cape Girardeau on Friday to drum up Republican support for Attorney General candidate Ed Martin.
Perry blasted the Supreme Court’s healthcare decision and he criticized Attorney General Chris Koster for not upholding Missouri’s Proposition C, which prohibits the government from requiring citizens purchase health insurance.
“You all said, I think with better than 70%, we don’t like Obamacare and we want it turned down, that you would have an Attorney General stand up and say, ‘I believe in that also, and I’m going to stand up in the halls of Congress, representing the people of Missouri,’” Perry said. “Wouldn’t it be great to have an Attorney General who represented you?”
Perry joked about spending an exhilarating three hours as a front runner for the GOP Presidential nomination.
Ed Martin faces Adam Lee Warren in the Republican Attorney General primary.
