It’s nearly Election Day again in Boone County and there are only a few items on the ballot Tuesday.

The ballot includes Proposition 1, which seeks to renew a Boone county-wide one-half of one percent sales tax for “improving and maintaining roads, bridges and right-of-ways.”

There's also a race to fill the state representative seat from the 50th district, which includes parts of Boone, Cooper, Cole and Moniteau Counties.

Republican candidate Sara Walsh is running against Democratic candidate Michaela Skelton to fill the seat left vacant when Caleb Jones resigned to become Gov. Eric Grietens’ deputy chief of staff.

The 50th district has historically been a safe GOP seat, but Democratic newcomer Skelton has out-fundraised her opponent according to the Columbia Missourian. She has raised $98,000 – mostly in small donations, as of July 31st, compared to Walsh’s just over $60 thousand.

Polls open tomorrow morning at six a.m. and doors will close at seven p.m.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story said the sales tax being voted on was new. This version has been corrected to say it's a renewal.
