More than 160 million women were never born as a result of sex-selective abortion. That's more than the entire female population of the United States.

Femicide, or the systematic killing of women as defined by the United Nations, is not a new problem; however, it is a problem that is creating new consequences.

Global Journalist examined the national and international coverage of femicide, and heard about the experiences of those that cover it.
