Will it become easier to report on China?

China’s new leadership will soon set the agenda for the world’s most populous country for the next decade. Changes in the Communist government’s top tier could affect censorship practices — and make it either easier or harder for journalists to report on Chinese issues.  

To discuss the ramifications of the leadership change are, Global Journalist spoke to the New York Times correspondent in Beijing and the Director of the China Studies Center at the University of Sydney. 

Andrew Jacobs first came to China as a student and later returned to teach English to college students. For more than four years, he’s been the capital-based correspondent for the New York Times.
