Yvonne Sparks Appointed to University of Missouri Board of Curators

University of Missouri

Gov. Jay Nixon announced today that he’s appointed Yvonne Sparks of St. Louis to serve on the University of Missouri Board of Curators, who oversee operations on the four campuses in the University of Missouri System.

In a press release, Nixon said that Sparks “is a proven leader who has dedicated her career to strengthening and enriching communities."

Sparks is currently the Assistant Vice President and Community Development Officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. She has also served on numerous boards in St. Louis, including the St. Louis Public Library and the St. Louis Regional Empowerment Zone.

Under the Missouri constitution, Curator positions are appointed by the Governor. Sparks is still subject to confirmation of the appointment by the Missouri Senate.

She would represent the First congressional District on the Board of Curators, with her term ending January 1, 2021.
