Lawmakers are considering whether to tax Missouri's drug dealers.

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — One of the school districts for students from Ferguson is facing a lawsuit alleging school board elections discriminate against black residents.

The American Civil Liberties Union and the NAACP announced the suit Thursday against the Ferguson-Florissant School District. It claims the district's at-large elections make it more difficult for blacks to be elected, even though the district serves more black families than whites.

The suit seeks elections where candidates are selected by ward or sub-district.

The American Civil Liberties Union on Wednesday plans to file suit challenging Missouri's treatment of same-sex marriages.

ACLU's Diane Balogh said Tuesday that the suit will be filed in state court in Kansas City, but she would not discuss specifics. News conferences announcing the litigation are planned for Wednesday morning in Kansas City, St. Louis, Jefferson City and Springfield.

It's unclear if the ACLU suit will challenge Missouri's constitutional ban on same-sex marriages or if it would simply seek recognition of gay marriages from other states.

If Missouri goes through with using a common anesthetic in two executions later this year, it could have a very real impact on hospitals throughout the U.S.

Gov. Jay Nixon said Monday the state will be moving forward with the executions.

The European Union says they will consider possible export limits of the anesthetic propofol if Missouri uses the drug in executions scheduled for this month and next.

The U.S. gets the vast majority of the common anesthetic from the EU.

Lawmakers in at least 11 states including Missouri are looking at plans to restrict the use of drones over their skies amid concerns the unmanned aerial vehicles could be exploited to spy on Americans.

The American Civil Liberties Union says state legislators are proposing various restrictions on the new technology.

The Montana Senate looked at two bills Tuesday that hinder the use of drones, most often associated with overseas wars.
