Auxvasse Residents to Receive Water Improvements

The City of Auxvasse is continuing work on a two-million-dollar water renovation project.

The project is scheduled to be completed within the next month, and will call for at least one town-wide boil order lasting a minimum of 18 hours.

“The maximum amount depends on whether or not there’s any bacteria in the samples collected,” Auxvasse City Supervisor Mike Bertschinger said. “18 hours is just the minimum amount of time it takes to run a test to verify if there’s bacteria present.”

After his status as a convicted felon and registered sex offender brought up a question in his election participation, Jerry Wilkerson is the write-in candidate for the Auxvasse Board of Aldermen. Wilkerson was able to find an exception in the state law that allows felons to participate in smaller forms of government.

Chinese language in North Callaway classrooms

MU’s branch of the Confucius Institute has signed a one-year deal with the North Callaway School district in Kingdom city, Missouri to introduce Kindergarten through 8th grade students to Chinese culture and language.

The City of Auxvasse is asking residents to approve a 5-million dollar bond issue to help fund projects related to the city’s water and sewer systems.
