Residents in Cooper County are speaking out about the issues they want to see represented in Congress.
A few special elections in Mid-Missouri yesterday resulted in success for the towns and entities asking for new revenue.
In Ashland, voters approved a one half cent sales tax increase to go toward transportation projects in the town. The Boone County Clerk reports a voter turnout of just over 6 percent for two special elections, with the measure passing 86 to 65.
Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville is in trouble. It lost more than $1 million dollars last year and has been running a deficit since 2007.
The State Redistricting Commission created new boundaries for Missouri’s 34 Senate districts when it voted to approve a map preliminarily Thursday.
