In Jefferson City, the downtown watch parties for the Second and Third Ward city council candidates were small, but the support was evident.

Ken Hussey hosted his watch party at J.P Fenny’s Sports Bar and Pub on High Street, where friends and family gathered watching election results on television.

He emerged as the victor, with 70 percent of the vote according, to KRCG TV. Hussey said he’s glad to have the support of the Third Ward and he’s ready to get to work to help move Jefferson City forward.

On April 2nd Jefferson City residents will decide on a new city council member in Ward 3. Two candidates are vying for the open seat that will be left behind by current councilmember Bryan Pope. Pope is not seeking re-election. 

Ken Hussey and Leonard Stella are both vying for the open seat.
