Three-Star Receiver Gray commits to Missouri

Missouri football landed its fifth commitment of the Class of 2018 on Tuesday when three-star wide receiver Danny Gray, from Dallas, announced his collegiate decision on Twitter. 

"I want to thank God for giving me an opportunity to play football at the next level," Gray wrote. "I also want to thank my high school coaches that helped me get this far and gave me the opportunity to play football. With that being said, I will be committing to the University of Missouri to continue my football career."

COLUMBIA - A former University of Missouri football player and strength coach has been named to one of the jobs created amid race-related protests.

Pat Ivey has been named the assistant vice chancellor for inclusion, diversity and equity. Columbia campus spokesman Christian Basi said in an email that Ivey is expected to help "improve attendance, retention and graduation rates . for students from all backgrounds." He will make $150,000 a year.

Missouri Republican Ed Martin is getting help in his run for state attorney general from Texas Governor Rick Perry. Martin and Perry campaigned Monday in Columbia.

Martin, a St. Louis lawyer who was chief of staff to former Governor Matt Blunt, is challenging Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster. At Bleu Restaurant Monday, Perry compared Martin’s campaign to an SEC football event.

 Former University of Missouri running back Derrick Washington has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault against an ex-girlfriend.
