Report: new federal health care law could cover two thirds of Mo. uninsured

A new report by the Missouri Foundation for Health estimates that about two-thirds of Missouri's more than 800,000 uninsured could get health insurance under the federal health care law  - and the county-level data suggest that rural counties will benefit the most.

The analysis uses census data to project how the number of uninsured could change in every county in Missouri under the Affordable Care Act.

Charity care at Missouri hospitals on the rise, new report finds

Health systems in urban regions are generally more equipped to handle charity care than rural regions, according to new findings from the Missouri Foundation for Health.

Missouri hospitals are providing more charity care, according to a new analysis from the Missouri Foundation for Health. But, community health centers have also been easing the strain.

Missouri's health slips to 40th in the nation

Missouri's health ranking dropped from 24th in 1990 to 40th in 2011.

Each year, the United Health Foundation ranks states' health. And almost every year, Missouri drops in the rankings. This year, the Show Me State fell from the 39th spot, to 40th. Most Missourians Still Oppose Health Care Law

Americans now know less about the main provisions of Obama’s health care reform law than they did at the end of last year. That’s according to the latest monthly poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation. Here in Missouri, a majority continues to oppose the law.
