Back in April, Harvest Public Media’s Grant Gerlock headed to Tekamah, Neb., to see how planting was going for farmers on the Missouri River floodplain. The river's surging waters put thousands of farm acres in Nebraska under water last summer, causing more than $100 million in crop losses in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.

Sparked by past events around the nation, one Missouri senator is trying to make disrupting a house of worship punishable by up to 15 days in jail and a three hundred dollar fine for first time offenders.

Missouri state Sen. Scott Rupp is sponsoring legislation to abolish language in the Missouri Constitution that prohibits public funding for religious groups to operate schools.
