Today Paul Pepper welcomes back TIM REINBOTT from the University  of Missouri's South Farm Research Center. Tim tells us about the 10th annual South Farm Showcase, a free, family-friendly event happening this Saturday in Columbia. Tim says, "we want to make sure our kids, and our kids-at-heart, can learn something, but have fun doing it." Don't miss the cockroach race, the wine tasting, the tomato tasting, the corn maze and more! September 27, 2016

MU's South Farm opened its doors to the public with exhibits, demonstrations and animals on display for all ages on Saturday. John Poehlmann is the Assistant Director of the Agriculture Experiment Station for MU. He says the around 35 exhibits at the showcase are geared toward engaging children with agriculture.

On this week’s show, we’ll learn about renewable energy in Fulton, hear about a new discovery in HIV research, and listen to a report on MU’s South Farm showcase.

Wes and Simone Sorenson pledged to donate their house and the 400 acre farm it sits on 10 years ago, but the University wouldn’t take ownership until after they had died. Wes died in May, and now the University is discussing how to best use the land.
