Missouri Firefighters Continue to Do Their Part in Texas

A team of Missouri firefighters is doing its part to help with water rescues and resident evacuations in Texas, in the wake of the most powerful U.S. storm in over a decade.

The Columbia Missourian reports Missouri Task Force One arrived in San Antonio late Friday night to aid Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. The task force joins at least 14 other state task forces and is made up of approximately 35 active personnel and 10 support personnel.

A spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety says an unknown number of people were killed in a massive explosion at a fertilizer plant near Waco Wednesday night.

KWTX TV reports that the explosion at West Fertilizer plant in West, Texas, was reported around 7:50 p.m. The station reports:
