MU's Deaton talks budget with faculty council

University of Missouri Chancellor Brady Deaton spoke to the University of Missouri-Columbia Faculty Council Thursday before its regularly scheduled meeting. This was the council's first meeting since the University system's Board of Curators approved tuition increases that leave the system with a $47.1 million budget gap.

UM System announces research recipients

Luis Jimenez, CEO of EternoGen, is one of the winners of the UM System's Enterprise Investment Program. Jimenez and Mark Lee, president CEO of CLB Horizons, were selected today, Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012.

Today the University of Missouri System announced the recipients of a $600,000 investment in two university research teams. The money will be use to further commercialize and expand lab research, which could translate into economic growth in Missouri.

UM Board of Curators approves tuition increase

The University of Missouri's in-state undergraduates received a good news today.  The UM Board of Curators voted to hold tuition increases to three percent starting this fall.  In past weeks there was discussion of raising tuition by two or three times that much.  However, the proposed tuition increase will leave MU with a forty-seven million dollar budget gap.

UM students petition for voting power on Board of Curators

Students at the University of Missouri want their representative to be able to vote at curator meetings.

The Associated Students of the University of Missouri (ASUM) has started a letter writing campaign to give voting power to the single student representative on the UM Board of Curators.

Curators to meet to discuss tuition increases
