University of Missouri Provost, Brian Foster, announced Friday David Rosenbaum as director of the University of Missouri Press. Rosenbaum is currently the director of product development and project management for the American Heart Association.

MU leaders are getting close to forming a new advisory committee to lead the University of Missouri Press. Spokesperson Mary Jo Banken says a transition team is currently reviewing nominations and plans to send out invitation letters later this week.
MU Chancellor Emeritus Richard Wallace says this committee is the first of its kind and has a main goal.
“To offer advice, to help this campus, MU have the very strongest, highest quality academic press that we can,” Wallace says.
The backlash continues over the so-called “new model” for the University of Missouri Press. one of the Press’ authors wrote a letter to UM System President Tim Wolfe, who closed the old press as a cost-cutting measure.
Author Don Spivey notified Wolfe of his desire to remove his biography of baseball legend Satchel Paige from the University of Missouri Press. It was published in May, and Spivey’s worried about the future of his book.
