Draft measures by St. Louis' governing board offer a glimpse of the city's financing stake in a new riverfront football stadium.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Board of Alderman bills it has obtained show the city will pay $6 million a year toward the project. That's in addition to an undetermined portion of game-day taxes that'll be rebated back to the team.
The yearly $6 million is the same amount that's covering debt payments on the current Edward Jones Dome, and it will cover roughly $70 million of the $150 million that Mayor Francis Slay's office has committed to the billion-dollar project.
It is unclear if St. Louis will have an NFL team when the stadium is finished. Rams owner Stan Kroenke is seeking to move to Los Angeles.
