Central Missouri lawmaker wants to update Missouri's law enforcement database

A central Missouri lawmaker wants to require the state's law enforcement database to be updated within 24 hours after an outstanding warrant has been recalled.

Anne Wharton of Columbia tells the Columbia Daily Tribune she was humiliated when she was arrested last year and placed in handcuffs for an outstanding warrant on a ticket she paid several weeks earlier.

Wharton's arrest prompted Republican state Representative Chuck Basye to file a bill requiring warrant information in the database to be updated within 24 hours.
