Charlie Worsham On Mountain Stage

Country singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Worsham makes his first appearance on Mountain Stage. Accompanied only by his own guitar and banjo, Worsham sings five original tunes that draw from his new self-titled EP.

Fresh off the road opening for Taylor Swift, Worsham routinely spends time outside each venue talking to audience members before he plays, which led to him joking with the Charleston, W.V., crowd about how different it was to not be asked by a single person if he could "get this to Taylor."

Originally from Grenada, Miss., Worsham appeared on the Grand Ole Opry in 1998 as a 12-year-old bluegrass banjo prodigy. He went on to study production and recording engineering at the Berklee School of Music — skills he proudly displays on his YouTube channel, where he's known to arrange, record and film his own version of a cover song suggested to him by his Twitter followers, all in 24 hours.

This segment originally ran on December 7, 2011.
