Governor Nixon is expected to approve a plan for roughly $300 million in bonds to repair state buildings.
Nixon is scheduled to sign the package of bills today, which include repairs and renovations to the state's seven veterans' homes. He's traveling to a state veterans' convention in Springfield for the announcement.
About $40 million in bonding would go toward repairs at the state's aging Capitol building, which have been deferred for years.
Roughly $160 million is planned for colleges and universities, and another $105 million would go to needs at other state-owned buildings such as the veterans' homes.
