Interim President at Missouri to Earn Nearly $40k a Month

The University of Missouri system's interim president's contract calls for him to be paid nearly $40,000 a month.

The Columbia Missourian reports that Michael Middleton signed the deal Wednesday, also putting him line to earn up to $25,000 in performance-based and deferred compensation payments. The 2014-2015 University of Missouri Salary Report showed that his predecessor, system president Timothy Wolfe, made a total of $459,000 in that fiscal year.

Middleton took over as interim president on Nov. 12. That was three days after the university president and the Columbia campus' chancellor stepped down in the wake of protests over racial upheaval at the school.

The system's governing curators have not released a timeline involving the search for a permanent president.
