Man Charged After Missing Ohio Teen Found in Missouri

Warren County Sheriff's Department

Federal prosecutors say a Cleveland-area teen missing for nearly a month was found in a Missouri home where she was held captive by a 41-year-old man she met online.

Authorities charged Christopher Schroeder on Wednesday with transporting a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Police say they found the 15-year-old Tuesday at his house in Marthasville, about 40 miles west of St. Louis.

Prosecutors said in court documents that the two met online and Schroeder drove to Ohio to pick her up. They say he held her at the home, had sex with her and told her to change her appearance.

The girl was last seen November 8th, when she went outside to tie up her dog in the Cleveland suburb of Brooklyn. Police said earlier she told friends she was planning to run away.
