The Fulton Medical Center’s new management will Callaway County residents an opportunity to discuss their ongoing healthcare needs, Thursday, Oct. 19. Community members are meeting with new hospital CEO Isabel Schmedemann at the Court Street Methodist Church in Fulton.
“This is a good time for them to focus on making sure that they’re communicating to the community,” said Pastor Aaron White of the First Presbyterian Church in Fulton.
White says a lack of communication in the past has hurt the hospital’s reputation and he hopes the meeting leads to the creation of a community advisory board.
In addition to this, White and other Fulton residents are happy that the hospital is remaining open and that its immediate future has been secured. However, White says there’s also a need to keep the hospital administration accountable.
“I’m hopeful, but I think we proceed with a cautious optimism,” said White.
