The Tiger Hotel will unveil three works by surrealist artist Salvador Dali on Friday evening, according to a press release.

The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the hotel lobby. An original piece and two lithographs, all signed by Dali, will be on display.

The hotel purchased the pieces at an auction because they felt they fit well with the style and theme of the hotel. The works will not be revealed until Friday evening.

Benjamin Hedrick, the hotel’s marketing manager, said the hotel encompasses the painter’s style and ideas.

“We just felt that Dali was a great fit for the hotel. Dali, amongst everything, just had a style of grandeur about him, kind of just an epic mentality towards everything that he did in his artistic endeavors and just went all out there,” Hedrick said.

He said the hotel is trying to emulate a similar idea through its décor.

The event will be open to the public and will showcase local artists work, as well. Some pieces will be available for purchase throughout the event, Hedrick said.

Hedrick said the hotel hopes to attract as many members of the public as possible to enjoy the art. The event is free and open to the public.
